Our Mission and Vision Statement

NEW ESTATE BAPTIST CHURCH MISSIONS AND EVANGELISM OUR BEGINNING: New Estate Baptist Church, Surulere was founded by Yaba Baptist Church on 12th February, 1961 and became organized (autonomous) Church on 14th August, 1966. The establishment of NEBC was “circumstantial.” God led Yaba Baptist Church to provide a worship Centre for people that were displaced on Lagos Island to Surulere known then as New Lagos. However, to His glory the “displaced” people then have now become established people doing great exploit for the Lord of Harvest. To God be the glory. OUR OVERIDING VISSION/GOAL. Our ultimate desire is to see the whole wide world covered with the knowledge of God as water covers the sea. This is captured in this simple statement: “CHRIST FOR THE WHOLE WORLD.” NEBC MISSION STRATEGY: The major strategy adopted over the years to accomplish our ultimate vision is Church Planting. This, we hold very dear. To the glory of God this strategy has enabled and still helping us in planting viable Churches across the nation. Below are the Churches that have been planted and organized into full autonomous Baptist Churches that are self governing, self propagating, self supporting and self financing: 1. The New Covenant Baptist Church, Ijaiye – Ogba 2. New Realm Baptist Church, Ojo 3. New Generation Baptist Church, Ikota 4. New Life Baptist Church, Oke – Alfa, Isolo 5. New Heritage Baptist Church, Somolu 6. New Fountain Baptist Church, Iyana Ipaja 7. New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Ejigbo 8. New Nations Baptist Church, Ikeja 9. New Revelation Baptist Church, Alausa, Ikeja 10. New Dawn Baptist Church, Victoria Island 11. New Estate Baptist Church, Abuja
NEBC MISSION APPROACH: As part of her Mission strategy, NEBC takes up two approaches. APPROACH 1: MISSION STATIONS. These are Churches planted in our Two Mission Fields in Lekki and Badagry. The peculiarity of this approach is due to the nature of the people in these areas; they indigent, not “able” to take care of themselves; NEBC therefore provides 100% support for them. This continues until they have grown till the point they become self supporting, self propagating, self financing and self administering local assemblies. The following Churches started as Mission Stations but to the glory of God the Father they have been upgraded to Preaching Stations and vey soon will become fully organized Churches. They are: 1. New Heights Baptist Church, Igbo – Efon, Lekki 2. New Creation Baptist Church, Bogije, Lekki 3. New Way Baptist Church, Sapati, Lekki Other Churches remaining in this category include: 1. New Foundation Baptist Church, Okunraiye 2. New Era Baptist Church, Magbon – Segun 3. New Vine Baptist Church, Ita Marun 4. New Pasture Baptist Church, Apakin 5. New Glory Baptist Church, Igando – Oloja 6. New Testament Baptist Church, Agadangba, Badagry 7. New Community Baptist Church, Badagry 8. New Song Baptist Church, Iragbo, Badagry APPROACH 2: PREACHING STATIONS. These are Churches that are established through one or two House Fellowships coming together or are planted within urban areas. Unlike the Mission Churches, these Churches, once planted are partly run by the mother Church (NEBC) and these Churches themselves. NEBC provides annual subvention to them, pay their Pastors’ salaries, allowances, accommodation and sponsors their Pastors to the annual Convention in session and Conferences for a period of at least one year. Likewise, they have a period of at least eighteen months (18) to operate as a Preaching Station before their eventual organization as an autonomous local Baptist Church. Presently, NEBC is having the following Preaching Stations: 1. New Heights Baptist Church, Igbo – Efon, Lekki 2. New Creation Baptist Church, Bogije 3. New Light Baptist Church, Magodo 4. New Birth Baptist Church, Ikorodu 5. New Spring Baptist Church, Ikorodu 6. New Treasure Baptist Church, Ketu 7. New Insight Baptist Church, Ogudu GRA, Ikeja 8. New Way Baptist Church, Sapati, Lekki NEBC MISSION FIELDS Currently, NEBC is operating in two Mission Fields namely, Lekki and Badagry. These two Mission Fields hold a very great potential for Mission enterprise. NEBC MISSIONS PARTNERSHIP. At present, NEBC is into partnership for active Mission work with the Global Missions Board of the Nigerian Baptist Convention in one of the Home Mission Fields; Awka/Onitsha in the Eastern Part of Nigeria and Burkina Faso International Mission Field. NEBC EVANGELISM MINISTRIES. 1. Hospital Ministry: Currently, we operate in two Hospitals in Surulere namely, Havannah Specialist Hospital and General Hospital, Randle Avenue. 2. Prison Ministry: Our prison outreach covers Kirikiri Minimum, Kirikiri Maximum, Kirikiri Female, and Badagry Prisons all in Lagos State. 3. Remand Home Ministry @ girls remand home Idi Araba. 4.
